Torrents are a great way to market. First of all, it's viral. Second of all, it's automated.
So what are torrents? A torrent is a file containing information on where to download the actual file people are looking for. The torrent technology has become popular due to its speed. The download speed is what differentiates it from other peer-to-peer (p2p) products and protocols.
So how can we utilize a torrent to fit our marketing needs?
Well, we will go over the basic method.
Torrents are great for targeted traffic. There are so many "niches" for the downloads people are searching for torrents on that you can almost target any niche. Thus, you get targeted traffic to your site.
So find a niche, and find the product or site you want to promote.
Add a Notepad document saying the torrent supports or is provided by this site and provide your URL. Call it the "readme" file so people will actually look at it.
Then zip the torrent and your readme file. Create a torrent file from this zip, and you should be ready to go.
Upload this torrent to every torrent site you can find, and once you get enough "seeds" (uploaders), the traffic should be viral and automated from then on. Now all you have to do is repeat the process over and over.
